About Us
Guyana Awakening was born out of a season of fervent prayer among Christian leaders from Guyana, the Caribbean, and the Diaspora. In March 2020, during the tense period following Guyana’s General Elections, Apostle Alvin Alladin of Rose Hall, Corentyne, challenged me to join him and others in united prayer for our nation. With the help of Apostle Malcolm Sobers, we formed a group within the Diaspora that began meeting weekly on Zoom every Sunday night to intercede for Guyana.

As the political impasse eased, we sought God’s direction on what should follow. We felt led not only to continue praying but also to confront one of Guyana’s deepest and most enduring challenges—the racial divide that has hindered unity for over six decades. From this burden, Guyana Awakening took shape as a movement dedicated to prayer, reconciliation, and national healing.

Since August 2020, our team has gathered every Thursday night to pray and to develop strategies for mobilizing the Body of Christ in Guyana as a united force against racism and division. Through ongoing meetings and collaboration with pastors, denominational leaders, and Christian organizations, we have been promoting the vision of Ethnic Reconciliation—encouraging churches throughout the nation to embrace and advance this mission.
